WaterSense®

Toto has partnered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to make it easier to save water and protect the environment by identifying high efficiency products that perform well. The WaterSense® label was created to encourage manufactures to produce water-efficient plumbing fixtures and to develop a system to help consumers recognize these products which have been performance tested and validated by several agencies.
The EPA’s WaterSense® label identifies toilets that:
• Qualify as High Efficiency Toilets (1.28gpf or less).
• Have a minimum soybean paste flush score of 350 uncased grams.
• Meet the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Supplementary Pricing Specification regarding trim quality and tank volume.
• Have third party testing agencies conducting product performance testing and validation.
As members of the EPA’s WaterSense® Steering Committee, Toto water efficiency specialists advised the EPA on developing product performance criteria for the WaterSense® program. Toto products are recognized as part of the EPA’s National Environmental Achievement Track, the “gold standard” for facility-based environmental performance, recognizing environmental excellence by encouraging facilities with strong environmental records to go above and beyond legal requirements. Toto is also a partner in the EPA’s innovative collaboration with the freight industry to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution.

Kohler Dual-Flush Toilets

Kohler Dual-Flush Toilets | Preserving Our Environment One Flush At A Time

Kohler Dual-Flush Toilets are a powerful way to save water as well as money. Great for the environment and even better for your pocket.
Dual-flush technology has come a long way in the past few years and has therefore become a lot more user-friendly. It offers the ability to use only the water you need. This is achieved by the innovative new dual-tone side-mount trip lever featured on three of Kohler’s most popular toilets. Two different flushes in one easy-to-use handle lets you save water without sacrificing performance.

Simple, intuitive design

The innovative dual-toned trip lever features two different flush options combined into one unique handle. The longer green lever provides a light flush (for liquid waste) at 1.1 gallons and the full lever gives a complete flush (for solid waste) at 1.6 gallons.
The two-toned trip lever is located on the side of the tank, just like a traditional toilet, so flushing is intuitive. And the top of the tank is free to store toiletries or facial tissue.

Same powerful flush with less waste

Kohler Dual-Flush Toilets can save up to $99 per year* on water costs without sacrificing flushing power. Thanks to their siphon jet performance, these dual-flush toilets flush four times more than the average adult needs.
Our dual-flush toilets carry the WaterSense® label, which means they use 20% less water than a standard 1.6 gallon toilet while still meeting strict EPA flushing performance guidelines.

A toilet for all types

They have added the side-mounted dual-flush technology on three of their most popular toilets. With eight available colors and three finishes available, Kohler Dual-Flush Toilets add style to the bathroom without sacrificing on comfort or water savings.
*Compared to 3.5gpf toilets – based on an average household of four, each flushing 5.1 times a day, 365 days a year. Money savings based on a national average water rate of $6/1,000 gallons used.
