Installation Tips
Install bolts and hand tighten the finger nuts by firmly pressing down on each bolt head to compress the seal. Fill the tank and retighten to allow for any settling . . . DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
Common Question: Which are better, nylon or stainless bolts?
Answer: Nylon bolts are a better fit for larger tank holes (5/8″ to 3/4″), are easier to install, will not corrode or bind over time and match the toilet color, so are not noticeable. They are less expensive and recommended for tank mounts where the tank is supported against a wall.
Stainless bolts are smaller diameter (3/16″), yet very strong and corrosion resistant. They can be tightened down firmly enough to hold non-supported tanks without worry of breakage.
